It’s a huge honor to be a bridesmaid, but don’t be fooled into thinking you are just there to look pretty. Bridesmaid has an important role to play both in the run-up to the wedding and on the big day itself. So brace yourself and prepare for some serious wedding duties.
Run up for the big day - Your duties as a bridesmaid begin as soon as you accept the invitation from this point you are your brides right hand woman and you will need to be prepared to fully immerse yourself in the wedding plans.
Voice You’re Opinion - If your friends have trusted you to be her bridesmaid she must think you are pretty, great, don’t go changing as you have a title. If you don’t like something (Even the wedding dress) be honest and say so, you are there to offer a valued opinion so make your voice heard.
Help With Tasks - here are so many wedding jobs it can easily become an overwhelming experience for the bride. Let her know that you are willing to help specially with DIY jobs and be specific when you volunteer. Rather than ask ‘Can I do anything to help ’? Can I help with addressing the envelopes?
Emotional Support – This is the biggie.Being a bride to be is an emotional roller coaster and you have just signed up for the ride! Prepare yourself for tears, tantrums and hopefully lots of laugh as you support your bride in her time of need.
Organize (And Pay) for the hen party - Organizing the hen usually falls at the feet of bridesmaid but all the maids are expected to help as there are lots to do. Jobs including a theme deciding on a date organizing the guests and buys the gifts/props and all without letting the bride in on the secret.

Help with choosing and paying for bridesmaid outfit: - Another Biggie, You probably will be paying for your own dress, so you want to make sure you like it! Before bride even starts looking at the styles and colors tear out examples of dresses you like and create a bridesmaid mood board, this way she will what you like from the beginning and hopefully she will embrace the look
Attend Ceremony Rehearsal : - If it’s a church ceremony a few days before the wedding you will be required to attend a rehearsal this is basically a run through of the ceremony which gives you a chance to practice the basics like walking down the aisle where to stand during the ceremony and the recessional.
